Text Messaging and Email (GDPR)

New Data Protection Regulations - May 2018 (GDPR)

Under the new data protection regulations introduced on the 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if a patient has already provided consent to do so i.e. you have already given us your mobile phone number, as there is no requirement to re-consent patients.

If Practices are sending messages about recommended treatment/s for the management of a specific health condition or health promotion, then this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients (i.e. not marketing purposes).

If you would like to register for the text messaging service (and have not already done so), please would you fill out the attached consent form:

Consent Form

If you would like to opt out of any future contact via text messaging, then please fill in the above form.

Patient email addresses are required for online services and vPRG (see 'Have Your Say' - Patient Group).  If you have already provided us with your email address when you signed up for online services and/or joined our Patient Group, there is no requirement for the Practice to re-consent patients.
