Flu Vaccinations Winter Season

PINFOLD MEDICAL PRACTICE FLU VACCINATION PROGRAMME

WINTER 2020

Update (3) – 21st December 2020

With the added pressure of COVID-19, this year’s campaign will be delivered in a different way than previous years. This is so we can ensure that both our patients and staff are kept safe, as well as enable us to deliver the programme to a much larger number of patients in an organised and planned way.

Venue: Is now at the Practice.

When: Flu vaccinations will be carried out in stages this year according to age and arrival of flu vaccines for each age group. As the vaccines are being delivered to us on different dates, we have had to plan the clinics accordingly. Please see the schedule at the end of this update.

Who can have a flu vaccine: NHS England have stipulated groups of patients eligible for the flu vaccination and information about this can be found here

It is important that you know this is the seasonal flu vaccination programme and NOT a COVID-19 vaccination programme. As you may already know, a COVID-19 vaccine is not currently available.

Appointment booking: there will be no walk-in clinics this year. All patients wanting to have a flu vaccination must book their appointment in advance. This will help us to safely manage a much larger number of patients (with COVID-19 safety measures in place) and monitor vaccine stocks. Please telephone the surgery to book a flu vaccination appointment, only if you are unable to book online. If you are not signed up for online services, please ensure you do this as soon as possible by asking our Receptionist to help you.

Keeping you updated: unfortunately, not all the information that you need has been made available to us yet by NHS England. We will continue to update the schedule below and post this on our websiteWhen you log on to our website, please navigate to: Flu vaccinations winter season page
